About Us...

Pointe Scientific, Inc. was founded in Detroit and incorporated in the State of Michigan in 1981. Pointe is a privately held company and has moved to larger quarters in 1984 (Detroit), in 1987 (Lincoln Park) and to our present 25,000 square foot, Canton, Michigan location in 2004. The Township of Canton is a fast growing community located between the cities of Detroit on the east and Ann Arbor, home of the University of Michigan, on the west. The Pointe building is within Research Park which is on the south side of Michigan Avenue just east of Beck Road. The area is serviced by Wayne County Metropolitan Airport (DTW) with fast and easy access to and from Pointe using nearby I-275 and I-94 expressways.

Laboratory Facilities The Pointe Scientific laboratory is used for a number of important activities. R&D work on new products is conducted here as well as ongoing research into improvement of our existing product line. Pointe technologists perform all product quality assurance testing here and Technical Service technologists use the many analyzers in the lab to develop and confirm instrument application instructions.

Product Production Pointe Scientific is regulated by the United States Food & Drug Administration (FDA). All phases of our production processes are based on strict Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) regulations established by the FDA. Our products are either in liquid or a powder form or a combination of both and are sold in various sizes as finished packaged products or in many different stages of production such as labeled vials, unlabelled vials or as bulk powder or liquid. Shipping Department The shipping department at Pointe Scientific is a very busy place. Pointe ships products all over the world using a variety of shippers and shipping methods. Many of Pointe’s products require storage at refrigerator temperatures so the shipping department staff makes sure the shipping cartons are adequately insulated and contain a number of ice packs to maintain proper storage temperatures while being transported. Maintaining the proper temperatures during transport ensures that the products will perform optimally when they reach their final destination.

Sales & Marketing Department The Pointe Sales & Marketing team works closely with our dealers and distributors both in the US and International markets providing sales support, marketing collateral and lead generation.
